Devorah Tarrow, Aesthetic Realism consultant, writes:
This festive public event featuring “What Music Says about Our Lives—a Celebration!” has been postponed due to the heavy snowstorm predicted for the NYC area on Thursday, Jan. 2. It has been rescheduled. New date: Sunday, January 5, 2:30 PM.
With musical examples from classical to jazz to rock ‘n’ roll, the speakers—who are musicians and educators—will present what makes for the beauty of music, and how music shows the way we can honestly know and like ourselves. The basis is this landmark principle stated by Eli Siegel, founder of Aesthetic Realism:
“All beauty is a making one of opposites, and the making one of opposites is what we are going after in ourselves.”
Following the seminar there will be a reception, with light refreshments, in honor of the new Terrain Gallery exhibition:”The Meaning of a Building”—architectural sketches and drawings by Anthony Romeo, RA, for the renovation of the Aesthetic Realism Foundation’s historic building!
Everyone attending will have an illuminating, thrilling time! For reservations, call 212.777.4490.
