JAIME R. TORRES, DPM, currently serves as Senior Advisor to the CEO at Urban Health Plan, a large network of community health centers in New York.
He obtained his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and a Master of Science with a concentration in community health at Long Island University. He is also a graduate of Fordham University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree.
For 25 years, Dr. Torres was Associate Director of Consultative Services and Director of the Podiatry Department at Coler Memorial Hospital, part of New York City’s Health + Hospitals system.
In 2006, he was asked by the American Podiatric Medical Association to become the spokesperson for their campaign “Descubra sus pies” (Discover Your Feet) to prevent foot ailments caused by diabetes.
Dr. Torres is an Associate at the Aesthetic Realism Foundation and is very active in the foundation’s Outreach programs.
He has been part of public seminars at the foundation on such subjects as:
