WORKSHOPS FOR SENIORS
Conducted by Jeffrey Carduner and Devorah Tarrow
“Seniors hear a fresh understanding of themselves, the world, other people!” —Queens Tribune, NY
Since 1994, thousands of senior citizens have attended these workshops—at centers and senior residences in (for instance) the New York metropolitan area, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., North Carolina, and Florida. Through the workshops, men and women get new hope, new perception, as they learn—with magnificent practical immediacy—what Aesthetic Realism explains: the deepest desire of every person is to like the world on an honest basis. And these lively and kind talks—with audience participation—show seniors how they can authentically like the world, and what interferes!
Some of the exciting presentations—in both English and Spanish—that you can arrange for your center or living community:
♦ Using Love, the Family & Age to Like the World
♦ Every Person Can Tell You Something about Yourself
♦ Love Is for Liking the World
♦ Memory Shows That We’re Connected to the Whole World
♦ Our Largest Desire Is to Like the World: We Begin with Objects!
Through instances of drama, poetry, and paintings by such great artists as Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Picasso, Renoir, participants are thrilled to see what Aesthetic Realism explains: the questions of life are answered in outline in the art of the world. The teachers speak deeply, too, about what they themselves have learned from Aesthetic Realism about their own lives.
“Your presentation was fantastic. The seniors were so, so happy. You can quote me.” — Program Director, Senior Center
“All had positive experiences and lasting effects. Participants stated they felt more confident and aware. Thank you.” — Program Manager, Senior Center
“I wish to express my highest appreciation for the presentations in Aesthetic Realism at our senior centers. Directors of the centers told me these were tremendously useful, lively events. Seniors loved them.” — Executive Director, Senior Centers, NY

The presentations can be translated simultaneously into Spanish by Dr. Jaime Torres, an Aesthetic Realism Associate, co-founder of Latinos for Healthcare Equity, and an active advocate for justice in healthcare.
